Songs that make me feel #1 - Industrial Blues and Greens and Ghosts

I've realized that my favorite music is the kind that you can listen to with your eyes closed. There's some music that is better to listen to quietly, some that you can sing along with, but then there's the music you can listen to really loud while laying on your bed and despite the music, everything is quiet and your thoughts just flow with beautiful imagery and pretty colors and other pleasant things.

Sometimes I ask people what they feel when they listen to music and they act like they didn't know you're supposed to feel something. Obviously, music has become only about a "good beat" with this generation.

WELL BACK TO THE POINT,
Here is one of my favorite songs to listen to loudly while laying down, with my eyes closed when no one is home:

Glass and the Ghost Children by the Smashing Pumpkins

Most of the time when I listen to the Pumpkins I think of being on rooftops of the tallest buildings in cold, harsh weather,  and tones of green and blue. I see pale faces, dark clothing, and I get this amazing sense of hope and happiness. This song is not an exception but it goes way beyond that. The mystery, the calming sound of the bass, the drums and guitar sound effortless, like scribbling the most beautiful and intricate lines on paper. The way Billy Corgan's voice sounds soft one moment and sharp the next, the peace that takes over the atmosphere. At around 4:30, the music slows down and you can hear the muffled sound of a piano with an overlapping recording of something barely understandable. You think, "Okay I think it's over now". But if you wait long enough, the music eases in again, the waves run throughout your body all over again, and it's all just really inexplicable.
